Who can apply for admission?
As a part of Southern Illinois University at Carbondale,
CESL is authorized under federal law to enroll non-immigrant alien students.
Admission is open to individuals who are willing to apply themselves to
the demanding language-learning program, who have attained the age of eighteen
or completed secondary schooling, and who have adequate resources to cover
their expenses (CESL charges and living expenses) for the entire period
of study at CESL.
How can you get an application form?
Request application forms by emailing cesl@siu.edu,
or sending a letter to the address below. You can also complete
part of the application on-line, or download the application in PDF format,
by following the links below.
The completed application form (include forms done on-line)
must be accompanied by:

The completed financial statement.

A non-refundable application charge in the form of a check,
draft, or money order (not currency) payable to Southern Illinois University
at Carbondale ($35.00).

A transcript of your academic records.

On-line application form
You can submit your personal information directly through
the on-line form. For your on-line application to be processed, you will still
need to mail the financial statement, application charge, and transcript of
academic records.
