Pattaya
Pattaya is my favorite place I like to go with my friends when I have free time. It's a small city in Chonburi. It is not far from Bangkok (about 120 kilometers by car). There are many interesting things that we can do in Pattaya. If you like to swim, you can go to the beaches. There are many beaches that you can choose from. Some beaches are very quiet. Some beaches have a lot of people. If you like to go camping, you can go to the mountains. There are many department stores that you can shop at, too. My friends and I like to eat seafood, and so we go there to order and eat all day because it's very cheap. In the night if you like to dance, you can go to pubs. You can go to the Pattaya Tower to see the light of Pattaya night; itís a very beautiful view. So if you have no idea where you want to go, I suggest you should go to Pattaya. I know you will like this place just like I do.

Movies are Life
Movies are my favorite thing. There are many kinds of movies. They are scary, dramatic, impressive, etc. Because we feel many kinds of emotions from movies, I love movies and I say that movies are life.
While people are watching movies, they are sometimes laughing or crying. It is possible for movies to control one's emotions. When people watch movies, they sometimes say, "This is my story" or "This is great." Do you know what it means? When people watch movies, it doesn't mean that they just watch the screen. They watch life in movies. There are many kinds of life: life when you are a poor person, life when you are a rich person, life when you have a broken heart, life when you die, life when you lose treasures, etc. Because movies have stories about many different lives, they can make people feel emotions.
My favorite movie is the "Paradise of Cinema." It is an Italian movie. It is a story of life. It has a child. His name is Toto. This is the story of Toto's growing up. While he is growing up, he makes many memories. This movie consists of these memories. He becomes a movie director when he is an adult. It is a very impressive movie. I like movies about growing up because I think the memories that we get while we are growing up are very valuable things.

Winter
My favorite season is winter because I like: Christmas, snowboarding, and snow. I like Christmas because it is very festive. The brilliant Christmas illuminations decorate the entrances of many stores. This day is when children get presents and start parties so I think it is interesting. Christmas is a dreamlike day.
My favorite winter sport is snowboarding because its control is easy and it is nice to look at. Snowboarding is very famous in Japan, especially with the young people. I started 3 years ago but my snowboard riding is not very good because my city doesnít have mountains so practice is hard and so many time I am moving and it costs so much money. But I keeping up on snowboarding because it is very interesting.
I especially like snow because it has very mysterious crystals and I look at snow in a collected frame of mind. Maybe, many people think snow is beautiful and are impressed by snow. Winter has many things: beauty, happiness, good fortune feelings etc... so I like winter very much.

Thai Food
Thai food is my favorite food. It's so delicious. Its taste is rather spicy and sour. Some examples are: Som Tom, Pat Thai, Pat Sea Yue, Rice Pat and Tom Yom Kung. Som Tom is my favorite food. It's the most famous food in Thailand. Many Thai people like to eat Som Tom. It's easy for me to make it by myself, if I don't want to go out to eat. It's made of vegetables such as papaya, tomato and green beans; mix everything together and put in a little sugar, limejuice and fish sauce. However, if you go to Thailand, you can buy Som Tom anywhere.
There are lots of restaurants I like to go such as the Tom Thun Thai restaurant, Bangkok restaurant and Bang Na restaurant. These are the best restaurants in Thailand. Since the food is cheap, the taste of the food is delicious and the atmosphere inside the restaurants are very good, I like to go there.
When I came to America, I had eaten Thai food in a Thai restaurant at Chicago. There are lots of Thai restaurants in America. American people like Thai food and like to eat Som Tom just as I do. Som Tom has no meat, no carbohydrates and no fat. If you have never eaten Thai food, you have to taste anyone of these mentioned here: Sam Tom, Pat Thai, Pat Sea Yue, Rice Pat and Tom Yom Kung.

Culture in Saudi Arabia
One of my favorite things to study about is culture. Every country has its own culture in the world. I like to know about as many cultures as possible. I think Japanese people do not like the number thirteen, and American people do not like black cats. I like to know about other cultures, because I always meet different people from different countries.
People in Saudi like to get together. They like to make invitations. Saudi weddings are very big; around 700 to 1000 people attend one wedding. Saudi people like to be kind to anyone who goes to her or his house. They usually offer Arabic coffee and hot tea to the guest. Every Saudi family lives together in one house, parents, grandparents, daughters, and sons.
Saudi people not drink alcohol. Always the Saudi fathers take care of the expenses. Saudi women do not drive; they usually have their own chauffeurs.

Jack is from Bangkok, Thailand. He is the youngest of two children. He has one older sister. Now he lives in Carbondale with his roommate. His roommate is Thai, too. He likes to play sports. He plans to study in SIU when he finishes CESL.

Eric is from Korea. He is a student of Dongguk University in Korea. He is 22 years old. He has parents and a younger sister. They are good people. It is the first time for him in the U.S.A. He likes to play soccer, to sing songs and to go movies. He wants to meet many international friends, so he wants to be an English master. He also wants to have a girlfriend. He lives alone in Forest Hall. It is a dormitory in Carbondale, IL.

His name is Makoto Sato. He is from Tokyo, Japan. He is 18 years old. He is an only child. He has stern parents. He likes: snowboarding, riding motorcycles, driving cars, and traveling. After CESL, he will go to SIU. He wants study mortuary science because he takes an interest in anatomy studying. It is very hard but he said, ìI try studying mortuary science.î His English is so bad now but he wants work in the U.S.A., so he must study everyday and speak English very well.

Jay is from Bangkok, Thailand. She is the oldest of four children. Now she lives alone in Carbondale at University Hall. Her roommate is American. She likes to play sports and wishes to speak the English language very well.

Her name is Nada. She is from Saudi Arabia. She is married. Her husband studies at SIU. His major is business. She has two brothers and two sisters. She the youngest one. She finished the University in my country.
