Dear Computer

Dear computer

You have accompanied me for ten years or more. You have helped me to finish a great quantity of my works. Since I studied at junior high school, you have accompanied me playing games. When I studied at college, you drew down many of my mechanical drawings, your computer modeling designed many of my mechanical components, and you finished so many of my papers. When I worked in a company, you followed me making multitudinous products, and your product examination and analytical materials system had affected many customers who were satisfied by the products. When I did service in the army, you did many assignments. Now, I am studying at CESL at SIUC, and you are always typing my paper. When I was bored, you would show some dramas, news, information, games or music, which seemed to try to make me happy. You usually urged me to contact my family and friends, and to buy something form the web for me. I believe that you will be more important than my wife in the future. Although you are very important for me, you usually caused me to feel very fatigued and feel harm to my eyes. If someday you can do the whole thing by yourself, I will be happier, and treasure and be fond of you. Don't get angry and leave me, because I can't leave you.

Hi! Computer. You are very busy everyday. I think people can not live if you do not exist. People need your existence. I need your existence too. I can connect everybody to through you. I am livening in USA, now. I can talk to Japanese people by your power. Every day, I thank you. In addition, you have many factors. I use your factor. I can do homework about writing in my house. I can listen to music, and I can play games. You have many great factors. When I began to look for you, I wanted VAIO from SONY, not you (my P is FMV from Fuji tu). I wanted famous PC. VAIO is very nice looking. But, you had same qualities as VAIO, and you were cheaper than VAIO. I was wishing which I should buy. But, I chose you, because you were cheap and having nice qualities. You do not have strong brand name, but your style is also very good. However, you were expensive too. I lose a lot of money by you, but I have no regret that I bought you. I can not spend one day without you. Electric dictionary, computer, and MD are my three best machines. Now, you are losing near thing to dictionary. I am sorry.

My Dear Computer: I am very happy that you have not spoiled my files recently. I have to say, "I love you so much". I can't live without you. I cherish you and I am gentle to you every day, but you don't care about me. You are like a naughty kid, and you are angry with me sometimes. I have been concerned about your condition since we became partners.

I swear that I will never change my mind, and I will pay attention to you forever. By the way, please do not ignore me any more.

My special memories

One of my special memories is moving here. I have an old car. It is nine years old but has good style. I drove about ten hours one day from LA to Carbondale. I have many interest stories from that day. First, I looked at different scenes. For example, steep valleys and high mountains in Nevada, ordinary and quiet Arizona, long open fields and country roads in New Mexico, hot weather and desert in Texas land, progressive cities in Oklahoma. The second reason my trip was memorable I met many people. One day I lost the load but one old woman helped me. she was very kind and nice. Another reason is most people seemed surprised to see an Asian man. Sometimes they even took pictures with me. Third, I saw interesting places For example. I dropped in at Native American religious statue markets in New Mexico, looked at big oil pumps in Texas, and American's Ride-Through Cave in Oklahoma. In conclusion, I will always remember these moving days because it was a special time in my life.

St. Louis Trip

The trip with CESL students was awesome. We went to the Arch. Then we went to top of Arch and it was realy fun. We ate our lunch at the Animal Park after we visited the Arch. After that we went to the St. Louis science center. In the science center Awni, Husseyn and I built a bridge. It was very fun. Also, the bridge was pretty good. Building the bridge made us tired so we stopped to rest. Last we went to Galeria Mall and we shopped at different stores. Although we had a very busy day, my frinds and I had a great time and would love to go back.

The Party

Last week I went in to the party in student center. First my friend called me in the afternoon to invite me to the party at 9:00PM, so I went to my friend Ali's home and there were many exciting and interesting things. For example, there were a lot of kinds of Arabic food like meat and rice and some sweets like date cakes. In this party I recognized a lot of Arabic people. We played chess games and cards and there was some challenges and some fun. The end of this party we were talking a lot and started to eat dinner. I liked this party and I enjoyed myself there.

My experience in CESL

During the time that I have been in the U.S., I have learned many things. First, I think my English has improved so much. Before I came here I could not write a page in English, but now not only I can write more than a page but also I have been learning new forms to write. For example, I am learning how to write summaries, summary responses, and argumentative essays. This is new for me because I did not know that until I came here. I think it is interesting and I like do that. I think that writing a summary is like eating an apple because almost every body eats an apple in the same way (biting the apple) and with a special system (APA).

Also I think a summary response is like an orange because when you eat an orange you have to take away the peel to enjoy the fruit. When you do a summary response not only you have to do a summary but also you have to say what are you thoughts about the article.

Finally I think that when you do an argumentative essay you have to know about the topic in order for your readers to enjoy whatever you write. And like a mango, you have to know the exact moment to eat and enjoy that.

Halloween

Many people think this celebration is a wonderful day; for me it is very special occasion to have fun with my special American friends. In my culture this celebration is for kids and some private parties, but here it is a really exciting party for everybody; last year I went to a big Halloween party here in Carbondale. I was very surprise that many people spent a lot money to buy a good dress for this occasion, and all the time I felt really free; I danced I drank and have a good fun time. Some people told me about the crazy and dangerous Halloween party many years ago, due to that fact that many people were out of control and destroyed some part in the central town, breaking the windows, crashing cars; drinking taking off clothes and doing many bad things. I donšt know if this history is really true, but I am surprised and I hope it never can happen again, because I am really a party girl, but I always like people to have fun in a good way. Now I am really excited because Halloween day is coming so I whish this day will be a really good time for me and everybody.

Writing class

Actually I have learned many things in this class (Writing Class).

First of all, I have learned how to write my summary, a short paragraph that represents the author idea using my own words. I have to start the summary with author name and article title in specific format.

Second, I have learned how to write a summary-response, which means write a summary that concludes with my thesis and show if agree with the author in his article or not. This thesis should be clear, specific and supported by evidence and examples from your life.

Third, I have learned how to write an argument essay which means to choose any topic and say your opinion about it and discuses other people's opinion about the same topic.

Sum...

Summary was first time very difficult to me. When I read and write summary first time, I didn't know about 3 words rule. So, I wrote same sentences in my summary. Summary is a apple that every people can eat easily. Response was very difficult, too, because I did not have experience English writing. Expressing my mind has been difficult to me. Although I want to describe my opinion, I cannot do my best and I cannot understand some article very well because of difficult structures and vocabulary. But, now I can write better than before, because I have written many summary-response, reading journal reaction and argumentative essay. Summary response is watermelon. Writing a argumentative essay is sometimes very interesting, because I like to write my opinion to some fields and I can argue more freely than summary response. It is a banana.

Male's advantage will be nothing

A man has more advantageous points than a woman. It is the same in US and other countries. Of course, it is also true in Japan. So, while female's right is made equal to a male in many countries, it is common for a male to be still have advantages and a female to have a disadvantages. I think this is not buried easily, but it slot will surely be buried in the near future.

In Japan, advancement in the society of a woman is not new and the woman also wishes it so. In a company or an organization, a male still has an advantageous position. For example, a company employs the same numbers as man and woman in twenties. Ten years later, the woman's number is half of male's. Because the woman will usually quit if she gets married. The woman who does not quit even if she gets married is disliked in the company. On the other hand, since the male thought to work till retirement age, he is considered useful. Therefore, at middle age there are only men in the company or organization.

In a family, man has a more advantages. Many Japanese men think that housekeeping is a woman's work and women also; however, many women think that housekeeping is joint work for husband and wife. For example, if there is a man who does not do housekeeping at all, he earns the salary, and nobody complains.

Before, Japanese women did not have human rights, because society was led by men. Now, Japanese woman is powerful and active. The relationship between a male and a female is changing. The idea that a man is predominant is old, but still, there is not equality. In the future, the difference between man and woman will have the same meaning as the color of eye and skin. Then, man's advantage will be nothing.
